2019 Dodge Ram 1500 Towing Capacity & Features

2019 Ram 1500 Truck Bed & Payload

The 2019 Ram 1500 can carry a payload of up to 2,300 pounds. Its truck bed features a fixed tie-down system, so you can strap everything down and prevent cargo from sliding around. To stand up against scrapes and dents, a drop-in bedliner is also available. 

Unlike most truck beds, the Ram 1500 features a wide design without any interference from the wheel wells. This gives you the ability to stack and slide cargo in, including plywood that measures up to 48 inches across.

Another function that separates the Dodge Ram 1500 from other trucks is the RamBox® Cargo Management System. This turns the sides of your truck bed into weatherproof, lockable storage compartments. 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 Powertrains

To move these heavy payloads and haul your trailer, the 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 offers three capable engines. The base powertrain is a 3.6L Pentastar® V6 with eTorque that gets up to 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. This option can tow up to 7,300 pounds.

The foundation for the next two options is a 5.7L HEMI® V8. On its own, this engine can tow up to 11,610 pounds with the help of 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. When it adds the eTorque Mild Hybrid System, it’s able to efficiently produce even more power. The result may be the same horsepower and torque, but you’ll be able to tow a best-in-class 12,750 pounds.

Both the traditional gas-powered option and the two that feature eTorque are paired with a versatile TorqueFlite® eight-speed automatic transmission.
