Jeep Wrangler Dashboard Light Guide
Congratulations on getting behind the wheel of your own Jeep Wrangler! There are plenty of long roads and fun travels ahead of you. Before you hit the road and travel far around Tunkhannock, Dallas, Harveys Lake, and Kingston, Pennsylvania, you want to make sure you know how your Wrangler handles.
Here at Tunkhannock Auto Mart, we’ve put together this Jeep Wrangler dashboard light guide, in which we go over a few key lights to keep an eye on while driving to better understand your vehicle.
Let’s get started.
Low Fuel Warning Light
Your Jeep Wrangler’s 17.5-gallon fuel tank will take you far and is easy to track on its dashboard indicator. When the tank is down to about two gallons remaining, a yellow gas pump icon will light up. When you see this light indicated, head to your nearest gas station to refuel.
Oil Pressure Warning Light
This next dashboard light in our guide also comes with an audible chime to alert you. The red oil pressure warning light is shaped like a dripping oil can. When you see this light and hear it chime while operating the vehicle, you need to pull over and stop the engine as soon as possible.
After the engine is started again and the indicator does not light up, the vehicle is safe to continue driving, though you should take it to your local maintenance specialist.
If the light appears and chimes when the engine is back on, the Jeep Wrangler is not safe to drive. Make sure to turn the engine off and get in contact with your maintenance specialist. The Wrangler needs to be looked at immediately.
Adaptive Cruise Control
Shifting gears in our dashboard light guide to focus on the Wrangler driver-assistive systems section, let’s discuss the various modes for the available Adaptive Cruise Control system.
Activated and at the Ready
This white light, which looks like a car driving with horizontal lines ascending before it, will light up when it is first activated but has not yet been “set” to target a car ahead and match its speed.
The same light illuminates green when the system is activated and set, but there’s no car in front to target and match speed with.
With Target
If the system is on and a vehicle is detected ahead, the green light on the dashboard will be the same design, but with a car’s bumper added to the top.
Service Needed
If a yellow light with a car over a speed gauge with an exclamation mark to the right appears, the Adaptive Cruise Control system needs to be serviced. Schedule your Jeep Wrangler for dashboard light maintenance as soon as possible.
Hill Descent Control
When your Hill Descent Control (a system that helps you drive downhill) is equipped, the light will glow white. The pattern of the light, a car on a slope with a speedometer dangling overhead, means that the system is ready to use.
Remember, this system cannot be operated when driving over 30 MPH.
